A Good State · A short note

The scale is not the whole story

A scale is a tool. It is not a biography. It cannot see how your clothes sit, how a flight of stairs felt, or whether food got quieter this week.

People give that one number more authority than it earned. A high-salt dinner, a late night, a hard workout, or the week of the month can move it. Then the day gets graded. That is a small instrument doing a large job.

If you weigh yourself, do it as data, not as a verdict. Pair it with other facts. Energy at 3 p.m. Appetite after dinner. Sleep. How you feel in your body when you stand up. Those belong in the same notebook.

Some people step off the scale for a while and use clothes and energy instead. That is allowed. Some people keep the number and refuse to let it narrate their worth. That is also allowed.

A Good State will not chase a before-and-after. The point of this community is a clearer read on how you feel, then a calmer decision about what, if anything, to do next.

This note is for general education. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan. A Good State is a publication, not a clinic or a pharmacy. Talk with a licensed clinician before you change how you eat, move, sleep, or take medicine.
